Dear The CW,
We have just gotten
news that your
show, The Beautiful Life: TBL, which airs Wednesdays at 9/8c, has gotten cancelled after only two episodes.
As huge fans of the show, we were all shocked and confused as to what
happened. The cast were in the midst of shooting the 7th episode, since
only 6 were completed. We ask you to please re-consider your decision
to cancel the show.
We understand that the ratings haven't been as good as expected. Other
shows you have been airing have also went through a slump, such as
90210 and
Gossip Girl,
but you have persevered with them. One of the many factors as to why
the show might have slumped in ratings is that it had the same
timeslot as Glee, Fox's new hit show with teenagers, the same demographic as TBL.
Another issue might have been the promotion and handling of the show. We feel that the show hasn't been
getting the best exposure. It's main competition, Glee, had TV spots throughout one of the most watched shows on television,
American Idol, and debuted right after it, with 10 million viewers.
Us fans would be willing to promote the show regularly by word of
mouth, printing advertisments and handing them out, Twitter and other
social networks, and buying the episodes on iTunes. All we ask is that
you re-consider cancelling it and do your part, or at least, air the
remaining 4 episodes that have been shot for them not to go to waste.
What
really drew us to the CW was it's sometimes relatable storylines, and
sometimes completely over-the-top situations, but we loved most of the
shows, including TBL. If you plan to replace it with reality shows, as
planned, then I, personally, would no longer support the CW since it
would be succumbing to what people expect of it, not want.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
