يعني أيه الخاصية دي؟

I dont understand Arabic but I guess you are talking about the new "Help translate a subtitle" feature on subscene. Are you having any issues with it?

i just saw the new feature of "Help translate a subtitle", i think that you should put up some "user permission" on that, so translator can pick if he wants other people to 'Help' him.

otherwise some people will just wander around other people's works and add their names or websites. dontcha think?

The setup is still evolving. Currently its a community translation meaning no one owns or controls the translation other than subtitle admins. I plan to open it for the public as well so that anyone can review the subtitle and its sentences. Currently, two individual users has to write the exact same translation of a sentence in order for it to be automatically approved.

Eventually, a user may also be able to translate a subtitle directly on Subscene as you suggest.

The idea of shared translating is great, i'm totally with it

the problem of the current "Help" feature, that it's a "blind" translation, so it's gonna be a bit "litteral" translation, and that's not good, because sometimes there's some "word play" or stuff like that... you know..

anyway, keep up the good work, the next version of subscene is gonna rock :D

You are good at hiding things (like the vote-button). Where is this one? :)

Yes, we have been thinking of adding some more text (prior and next), just need to find a good way to display it all. There is also a challenge with "newline" in a sentence.

the idea of group translation on-site is great, but i think this way is a bit weird. let's just say, i'm a beginner, i try to translate only easy lines and greetings and stuff, but whoa, the site won't give me any easy ones, there's those slangs or lines in other languages

i'll just say, "man, this is hard, i think i'm not gonna contribute in that", because i can't pick the lines i'm translating.. you see?

يمكن تطوير هذه الخاصية لتصبح برنامج متكامل لترجمة الأفلام أونلاين وأرجو من الأخوة الأعضاء تصويب إقتراحي:
يختار كل عضو لغته الأم (العربية بالنسبة لي كمثال) وكل ما أدخل صفحة فيلم غير مترجم بالعربية تظهر هذه الخاصية ويعطيني جملة من جمل الفيلم لأترجمها (أنا وكل الأعضاء بشكل عشوائي من نفس الفيلم) حتى تكتمل الترجمة  مع وجود خاصية أخرى هي تصحيح أو مراقبة الترجمات السابقة أي تظهر لي ترجمة تيتر معيّن (عشوائياً أيضاً) فأوافق أو لاأوافق عليه وتتم بشكل متواصل تحسين الترجمة حتى تظهر بالشكل المثالي
بالطبع ستواجهنا مشاكل (خاصة باللغة العربية) مثل المفرد والتأنيث والجمع، المذكر والمؤنث وطريقة لفظ الأسماء وغيرها ولكن قد تكون خطوة عظيمة لترجمة الكثير من الأفلام التي تحتاج جهد طويل
ويمكن لأي من الأعضاء أخذ الترجمة في أي مرحلة من مراحل نموها وتطويرها بنفسه وإكمالها

A translation of mr. aboRoma's idea:

this feature can be improved, by making every user choose his own language (Arabic for example) and when entering the page of some movie, it shows me a random sequence of the movie's subtitle, and the same for every other user. along with another feature of sub correction, in form of a vote, so i can approve or not approve a translation of some sequence, thus coming out with the best possible sub.

let's say, only for example, i own two accounts here on SS, and i'm wanna write my website/name/anything on some random sub, i'm gonna login in the 1st account and submit what i want, and then login in the 2nd account and submit the very same text. Tada, i successfully ruined a good work of some people who worked hard on a sub :)
