Since I am a bit lazy, I thought I'd just copy what I wrote on my profile page here about resigning:

Hi, I am rogard, and I am RETIRED!

I used to be system admin of subscene. I was doing this job for 5 years out of passion for good subtitles. Now it's time to do something else in my life and find myself a new project. Together with my fellow admins I have achieved a lot here on subscene for the subtitle community. We helped improve subtitle quality and valiantly fought against thieves and ignorant people.

Looking back, I can see how far we have come, and I am curious what will happen in the future. I am confident that there will always be a team of dedicated and idealistic admins on subscene, and hundreds of contributors together with hundreds of thousands users. Y'all will do just fine, and this old and tired wolf can finally retire.

Maybe I'll even find some time for my own subtitles again, that would be nice. Being an admin has kept me from doing it forever. It was a real time killer, and I don't have that much time at my hands as when I became admin 5 years ago. And as John McClane put it so eloquently: "I am getting too old for this."

I did not resign on a whim, in fact, I have been preparing this step for more than 2 years by trying to create a strong admin team that could take over easily. I am sure I did well. :-)

Thank you all for being around and for making this such a great place. I had a lot of fun and I have learned much about myself and other people from all over the world, coming from totally different cultural, political, social and gender backgrounds - it has really been a challenge and a wild ride for me, but I wouldn't want to miss it for the world!

Since I'm Known her as a new member firstly and a beginner translator, I didn't get the time to encounter with you and getting close in this site.
So nothing will make my words different in specifically way to change your own decision
which I respect because no one with your experience will do a thing like this except there something more important , maybe her or in the real life beyond the cyber world.
Looking all through back to your profile and your work, made me to realizes that never been before or now or even after, we will able to find someone who can fill the space that you left us here when your gone.
Remembering what you said from John McClane : "I am getting too old for this." but you forgot that from time to time he always come back with a new look even in a matter of speaking that Willis is an old man.
This old and tired wolf, is giving up the fight, but I don't want him to give up the the real value in his appearance her which is the wisdom.
Yes, the wisdom through 5 years for this site will Vanish.
Think in others and in that time you will find your self saying why I'm taking such a major decision

I'll always remember you as bringing the admins of our sites closer together, first with LeapinLar, and then with yours truly (in case you're wondering who that is...that would be me, numb-nuts). I guess all fellowships eventually come to an end. Knowing this doesn't soften the blow when it does.

Have to say I always wished it would be me before you, but I guess sooner or later I'll join you on the gallop towards the sunset. Watch and wait for me on the horizon, for the scoobster will always be your wingman!

This is the moment I have always hoped not to come. I have to say that rogard has always been a great friend of mine. Maybe the best one ever. He has always helped me to handle matters here and sometimes in my private life.  I'll always appreciate his role in my life. I just hope he will be around for us, to get his advice and help when we need it. I'm sure subscene will not be the same without his wisdom, experience and dedication. But I can't load any pressure on him to stay.

Rogard, thank you for everything and I wish you the best of luck.

Oh, oh.... a comeback post !!!

Subscene to me is just barely an internet site...

I mean, I know that's where it 'is', but the usual characteristics of a site aren't here !

Anyway, I also have been an Admin related to numerous sites, most of them related to the world of 'p2p'.

Subscene, like it or not to admit it, is a MAJOR component of the p2p world.

Doing ANY level of administration for a p2p or even greater, THE GLOBAL SUBTITLES SITE,

is demanding beyond the belief of most members.

'Status' associated with such 'positions' evaporates within minutes !

It is a lot of work, and far more important, it is a lot of work for a hobby.

Subscene is special for many reasons, but one of the most important reasons is due to the fact that so many of the contributors openly admit.... It's My Hobby. I Like Making Subtitles To Help Others !

Subscene is weird... It's nice. A lot of that is due to rogard...

Thank you for all you've done, Rogard! I'm fairly new to contributing myself (though long time user), but you are definitely one of those individuals on here that have inspired me to contribute and give something back. I've always enjoyed your subs as well, quality work. Sounds good at least that you might find more time for that now:) Either way, thank you very much for all the work you've put in! :)
