We are currently discussing a "flag" mechanism for subtitles which will include "Flag as machine translation" which then automatically will float to the top of the subtitle administration list.

Good suggestion!

now almost everything is fine

i guess it's ready 2 go ?

awesome for sure, waiting for it

Oooops !

Just realized that I posted the following in the wrong place, ie The Rating discussions...

Sri abt that... So, a request suggestion...

Again, apologies if this has been covered/suggested before-

I would very strongly recommend the addition in the Upload Page of a

Runtime entry field that is obligatory.

It would mean adding a field with 3 simple boxes for Hrs - Mins - Secs

No other single descriptive field would be more useful for informing people as to whether or not the Subs are appropriate for their particular copy of a film.

The existing basic descriptions are based on film title and possibly the encode 'quality' or encoder nick.

If all uploaded subs were required to include the actual video runtime it would greatly improve the chances of grabbing the one you really want ! - (Somewhere closer to the first time, LOL !!!)

can you add all time counter?it means i could see total download of all of them

can you add a compatibilty field, where sub uploader can specify if this upload works on more than one release, and it would be better if he could mention them..

so when you click/hover/or any possible event on a sub, before proceeding to the download page, you see a bubble/sliding box/etc, that specifies compatible releases

and also incompatible ones, if the uploader knows that this sub is incompatible with a specific version it would save some time for the sub-seeker..

Hey, Vin, i hope you guys are doing the flag system on the forum subs aswell, not just the subs..

Hi, im sure that would be of much value. Many movies will have the same Runtime and we can not always expect the subber to know that information. E.G. If I translate a particular subtitle into a new language, I may not know that information.

Yes, this has been added to the new upload page and the subtitle page will display multiple release names if available :) Its gonna be great!

Cheers!

The new forum layout isn't decided yet. It will be the last part that is converted to the new style. But it would make sense to setup the same kind of flagging indeed.

Best,

Vindberg

Hi again..
i have a little suggestion, a 'nice to have' feature. i think there should be ranks for users, you know, a user can specify if he's only sub uploader, translator, snyc expert... etc..
so people can't get confused, often sync experts get translation request, and translators get re-snyc requests and vice-versa..
just an idea..

what do you think about total counter?

Hi Farid, what do you mean by total counter? What is it and where do you want it?

I have added the option of a "Production type" when uploading subtitles. That will tell the user if the subtitle is an improvement or a new one and what kind of contributor the uploader is. I think that will help with the scenario you speak of :)
